Post here your favourite albums which a short explanation/description of why you love it so much. You can post over a period of time so you don't have to post all of your albums in one large post.

I have a lot (with a lot of boredom to kill). But first is:

    Favourite Albums Hole_Live_Through_This_larg
    Hole - Live Through This

    Tracklist
    1. Violet
    2. Miss World
    3. Plump
    4. Asking For It
    5. Jennifers Body
    6. Doll Parts
    7. Credit in the Straight World
    8. She Walks On Me
    9. I Think That I Would Die
    10. Gutless
    11. Softer, Softest
    12. Olympia

I would put what songs stand out the most but for me there isn't one. Each individual song is crafted so brilliantly. Courtneys wailing and shouting is so emotive. This is one particular album I never get sick of. It should be one of the most important grunge records of the 90's, but unfortunately people put Courtneys reputation before music.
The lyrics are full of metaphors and hatred. And if you know anything about Hole at all - thats what makes them so amazing. I truly don't believe that Courtney got Kurt to write songs for this album (along with the fact that I don't believe she killed him).
I discovered this album a year ago and since then I listen to it all the way through pretty much everyday.

    BEST. FUCKING. ALBUM.

Post away bitches, we need some life on here.

I have way too many favourite albums, but for 2009 alone I will post a couple of my favourite albums...
Skindred: Shark bites and dog fights
    Favourite Albums Skindred_shark_cover
They are an alternative Punk/ragga metal band, take a Nu metal band like Rage against the machine or Limp bizkit and fuse reggae with it giving a colourful, cultural, aggressive, passionate music experience in the form of this album...Definitely a lot of catchy songs on this one, It is partly what brought me to the band seeing an ad for this album upcoming in one of my magazines at the begining of the year...
    Best tunes
    Electric avenue
    Stand for something
    You can't stop it
    Days like these

    Next up

This album definitely stood out to me, My dad had always been into proggy type stuff, but this was taking it to a new and more developed level, with polyryhthms and odd time signatures rifling through the tracks.
The drumming is intense and compliments the powerful unique vocals of an interesting band.

    Mars volta:Octahedron
    Since we've been wrong
    Halo of Nembutals
    Teflon
    Favourite Albums Mars-volta-octahedron-$7036119$300

    Finally
Dream theater:black clouds and silver linings
One of my all time favourite bands, at the front of todays prog rock, and prog metal, this ultimately independent band sing of deep and emotional subjects, the loss of close friends, family members, euphoria, and the diversity of life...This band surely knows how to give music a good name, putting time and musical talent into every aspect of their music, This album definitely was a mindblower...a heavier comparison to the rest of their albums, their music seems more like an amazing discovery more than anything else,
    A nightmare to remember
    Wither
    Stargazer
    The best of times
    Favourite Albums Dream_Theater_-_Black_Clouds__Silver_Linings

    Lionheart - Kate Bush

Tracklist (* = stand out song)
    1. Symphony in Blue
    2. In Search of Peter Pan *
    3. Wow
    4. Don't Push Your Foot on the Heartbrake
    5. Oh England My Lionheart
    6. Fullhouse
    7. In the Warm Room
    8. Kashka From Baghdad *
    9. Coffee Homeground *
    10. Hammer Horror *

This is one of those inspirational albums. Kate Bushs' surreal world channeled through music is just epic.
My favourite song of the whole album has to be Hammer Horror, or Coffee Homeground....bah I love them all.

    Favourite Albums IntheCourtoftheCrimsonKing
    1. 21st Century Schizoid Man
    2. I Talk to the Wind
    3. Epitaph
    4. Moonchild
    5. In the Court of the Crimson King
Recorded in 1969, this album is believed to have been the album that first started Prog Rock. Remarkably, this 40 minute masterpiece was completed in 10 days.

    Favourite Albums Talking_Heads_-_Speaking_in_Tongues
    1. Burning Down the House
    2. Making Flippy Floppy
    3. Girlfriend is Better
    4. Slippery People
    5. I Get Wild/Wild Gravity
    6. Swamp
    7. Moon Rocks
    8. Pull up the Roots
    9. This Must be the Place
    10. Two-Note Swivel
    11. Burning Down the House 2
This album is associated with the creative downfall of Talking Heads. Previously, the band had thrived on funky, New Wave tunes. While sticking to their original vibe, David Byrne took over creatively and not only changed the face of the band, but caused blood to boil within the group. David Byrne was nearly replaced by King Crimson's Adrian Belew because of this album.

    Favourite Albums Thnaked
    1. Blind
    2. Mr Jones
    3. Totally Nude
    4. Ruby Dear
    5. Nothing But Flowers
    6. The Democratic Circus
    7. Facts of Life
    8. Mommy, Daddy, You and I
    9. Big Daddy
    10. Bill
    11. Cool Water
This was Talking Head's final album and the final cause of their split. David Byrne had now taken over completely and this album is much like Byrne's solo work in the 90s more than the original Talking Heads. A second release of the album with the song "Sax and Violins" was made in 1991 as a farewell from the band.

    Favourite Albums Pepper%27s
    1. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
    2. With a Little Help from my Friends
    3. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
    4. Getting Better
    5. Fixing a Hole
    6. She's Leaving Home
    7. Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite!
    8. Within you Without you
    9. When I'm Sixty-Four
    10. Lovely Rita
    11. Good Morning Good Morning
    12. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Reprise
    13. A Day in the Life
This may have been the first Prog album, or it might not have been. It has no discernable genre; I usually think of it as being more like New Wave. Every face on the cover is a historical, political or pop cultural icon.

    Favourite Albums Chronologie_Jarre_Album
    1. Chronologie Part 1
    2. Chronologie Part 2
    3. Chronologie Part 3
    4. Chronologie Part 4
    5. Chronologie Part 5
    6. Chronologie Part 6
    7. Chronologie Part 7
    8. Chronologie Part 8
Jean Michel Jarre's techno inspired album utilising timing and pacing as the key element.

I'm not going to use some creative, English speak so I'll just list a bunch of things I love about "It's Classy, Not Classic"

+ the best songs I would are the first two songs (not including The Introduction), it just sounds the best in my opinion.
+ catchy lyrics, catchy beats - typical pop song structure I guess.
+ I like the electronic, screamo sound put together.
    + I just like it.

    LMFAO.
Crap review, but I really do love Breathe Carolina.
